Helping women who are victims of human trafficking and/or forced into prostitution

Our association, LAFL, which claims to be independent of all political persuasions and religious denominations, aims to help women who are victims of human trafficking and/or forced into prostitution. To this end, it aims to build up a network of people likely to help them, in order to implement actions that will support them, by :

support for their social and cultural integration

medical support, combating female circumcision

support for women leaving prostitution

combating inequality between men and women.

WHY DO WE EXIST?

In Poitiers, there are women forced to prostitute themselves on the streets. Most of them are Nigerian and can neither read nor write. Prostitution was never their choice: when they arrived in Europe, they were handed over to pimps who forced them into prostitution, threatening their families back in Nigeria with death. The violence of their clients and pimps is part of their daily lives. Despite their vulnerability, these women sometimes have the courage to come out of the shadows when they are given a helping hand.
